The Kamal kadai stitch

I don't just patch my pants to decorate them, although I do that the most, I do whatever makes me happy. In the case of these brand new pants, embroidery, even though when looking up ways to decorate my pants I decided I would not spend that sort time on pants. 🙄

Once you settle on embroidery…. exactly how/what do you do? Only along seams, flowers, a picture? Yeah I wish I could say I really decided on that, I just started at hems I needed shorter, went to the seams, and…yeah I think I'm just going to do a bunch of flowers. R (my inamorata) suggested I do shades of grey with pops of color and that's mostly the plan now, but i thought I'd do a lovely little cluster of colorful flowers in the open pocket space. Granted free will see them, but that's some of the fun I think.

I discovered this pretty type of embroidered flower on chicken scratch embroidered aprons and thought I'd like one per pocket so I had to try and figure out how to do it. I was fairly sure I could figure it out just looking at it, and while looking at previously screen shot embroidered flowers I lucked out by finding the name of the stitch under one picture.

Not bad for my first right? There are some amazing versions out there I will likely never make. All the white you see around the flower is washable marking pen, but I kind of dig the look so I might just stitch some paler rays around it, we'll see.

The second picture is just my little flower cheat sheet that I used while doing my pocket posies, and K thought it was cool looking so I thought I'd toss it in.
