The risk of eating purple carrots.

We grow solid purple carrots, and pretty much only purple carrots. The exception to that being we also grow ox hearts, which are orange but massive, looked up to 5lbs a piece massive. We use to grow lots of different types and colors, because I love growing unusual versions of stuff I grow, but I fell in love with the solid purple carrots and stopped growing everything else.

Why you ask? Not only are they awesome looking being solid purple to the core, but they taste amazing, like all the flavor and sweetness of 5 of the best carrots you've ever had. Seriously, the seeds may be hard to find sometimes, but they are so worth growing of you are going to grow carrots.

They do, however have a huge flaw, and of course it's also the thing I love about them. They are dark purple. Which means if you eat them…let's just say you will never be able to sneak a purple carrot! 🤣 I don't mind that so much, but trust me and don't add them to soups or anything you want to cook and don't want to turn a potentially icky color.
