The very reason I learned to make ribbon flowers.
19 years ago my husband K and I got married in Elizabethan garb that I made. Actually I made what we both wore, what my mom wore, what both my sisters and maid of honor Mike wore, my veil and all my flowers. Yeah, it was a bit crazy, but we were only 25 and rather poor.
I knew I didn't want real flowers because I couldn't keep them and dried they are never as pretty, or regular fake flowers because I disliked them, but for a while I didn't know what to do, then I found a velvet rose on a box of Godiva chocolate, finally I had something to aim for.
The internet of 20 years ago was not the same one we have now and I couldn't seem to find how to make the roses I had seen, but I did find a couple of books on making ribbon flowers and ultimately they turned out much better than the velvet ones would have. The white bouquet is mine, now that I've had more practice with making bouquets I can think of a million ways it could have been more interesting, but it's lovely none the less. Yes, the picture behind it is from my wedding.
The blue and white bouquet I made later just to make, if I can find the pictures later on I'll post pictures of one I made for a friend.
Yep, I do indeed plan to post just whatever random thing that pops into my head. 😁
