Recipes by hand

What does recipe by hand mean? At least as far as my posts go, it means I'm going to post pictures of my handwritten recipes. Yes, I could type it all in and I will answer any “wtf does that say” questions, but I simply adore writing by hand, there is something almost meditative for me in it, seeing how attractive I can make my writing. Plus not only do I not want to have to type it all out (I HATE typing), but I kind of like how colorful some of the recipes we like can get. You'll see what I mean 😁.

Now the why I'm sharing my recipes, and by mine I generally mean I've changed up a few things…or at least have notes to do so.

I don't have kids, they were part of the plan, but I couldn't have them and my back falling apart, plus MS and, oh yeah cervical cancer, meant that by the time I'd learned to cope I was 40 and at that point, the idea of adopting and becoming parents for the first time was beyond contemplation.

But I have lots of recipes I love, recipes I've often spent lots of time tinkering with…and no one to pass them on to. I'm not some amazing baker or anything, but people seem to like them, and I hate the idea that when I'm gone, my recipes will disappear.

So a couple of years ago I got the idea of making a cookbook of sorts to give to people I care about. Since I love both writing by hand and my handwritten personal cookbooks I had the idea that I could either rewrite the winning recipes to send to my sisters ect (I know, that's crazy) or type them up. I asked R what she thought, tidy typed copies or rewritten, her thought was I should take pictures/scan them and maybe post them somewhere, show off my beautiful handwriting. I personally think my handwriting is more pretty than beautiful, but hey, who am I to argue?

So that's why I'm doing things this way. I get to share my recipes, as well as my crazy colorful notes.

If you have questions feel free to ask them, just keep in mind I am not a professional, which means my alterations are just to my and K's taste. They may be imperfect (or written for me to understand) and I'm not going to know calories or if alterations/changes are possible. I'm not discouraging questions, please ask away as someone reading might have an answer, but be aware there is no way I'll know something like, if substituting Splenda in place of Karo will taste the same or even be possible. LOL

I really hope you like my recipes if you give them a try and I'd LOVE to hear all about it! If anything is illegible or confusing let me know and I'll try to help you out. Enjoy!
