Scrape, scraape, scraaape

As a brief interlude in my medication story I thought I'd toss in a funny tid bit.

A couple of nights ago Kent and I settled into bed and I noticed a weird unfamiliar noise.

Scrape, scraape, scraaape.

It just kept going, this weird scratching noise. No one was in the kitty litter so it wasn't that. Unable to just let it continue without knowing what the fuck it was, I got out of the warm bed to wander around in the cold bedroom listening. I could hear it on my side of the bed, but only toward the head of the bed. Hey, stuff echoes weird in the house, I think so I start to explore. I get to the door and the sound almost disappears. Hmmm. Back up the bed on K's side where it gets louder.

Scrape, scraape, scraaape, scrape, scrape, scraaape.

There is nothing on that side of the room that would make noise, and why does it sound like it's coming from the window behind the bed?

I move the curtain for a look and find one of Dad's cats Pita in there. The noise is her licking at the ice built up in the window. (Mr. Smith did not build a great house and it's been cold as fuck lately)

Oh crap, they must be out of water. I go out to find they were and filled it up. Three other two cats come trotting out, but no Pita. I go back to bed.

Scrape, scraape, scraaape.

She stayed in the window a bit and licked at the ice. 🤣

Today I caught her doing it again, and there was plenty of water this time. Silly cat apparently likes “drinking” the ice instead of drinking water. At least that's better than her “sister” who I've caught drinking toilet water more that once.
